TEXAS STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE IS A SCAM!!!

SCAMMED ME OUT OF OVER $96,000!!!
(loans + grants combined)

Texas State Technical College kept changing the degree plan and classes offered every semester to keep me attending longer than I had originally planned. I completed 74 credit hours for a 60 credit hour degree. Half my classes match up with the old degree plan and half match up with the new degree plan, since they don't match up with one single degree plan I have been scammed out of a degree and now owe over $73,250 in student loans and according to other reviews on StudentsReview.Com I am not the only one to experience something like this.

Money making scam aside, I also feel that I learned nearly nothing here. All the instructors do is assign work out of books. Many are not even qualified to be teaching what they're teaching. They had a business teacher teaching a CompTIA Network+ class. I feel that if one does not have the certification themselves they certainly should not be teaching a class on it! If I knew that was all it was going to be I could have just bought the books and learned on my own without wasting money on tuition. The few non-book assignments were done on obsolete hardware 5-7 years old. I never saw a Cisco switch or router once at the school, everything was done "virtually" in Cisco PacketTracer. Again, I could have just learned with PacketTracer on my own! They also have no integration for you to get the Cisco certifications as part of going to the college, you have to go spends hundreds of dollars on your own at a third party testing center to get your Cisco Certifications. Basically most of the classes are certification-prep classes for certifications you have to go get on your own so you might as well just buy the books and learn it on your own then go take the certification tests and save a ton of money! Classes covered certification preps of Cisco Certified Network Associate, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, and several Microsoft Certifications and I received none of them because you have to get them on your own and the cost for all of these would be well over $1,000!!!

So in summery:
1. Scammed out of a degree due to their deceptive trade practices of constantly changing degree plans and classes offered to keep students longer.
2. Scammed out of getting certifications due to them not integrating them requiring you to have your own CASH to get them on your own. (I've heard there is a system in place where a school can purchase test vouchers and add the costs to your tuition so you can essentially use financial aid to pay for your certifications, TSTC chooses not to do this! Probably because there is no money in it for them.) TSTC could not care less about their students' futures, TSTC is only out to make money!!!

I explained all of this to them and they refused to do anything to help me leave TSTC with a degree so I asked them for a refund of my tuition and they refused and then referred me to their legal counsel! Statistically, more often than not it is guilty parties that refer people to their legal counsel!

So I sent a certified demand letter to their legal counsel and received a certified letter back containing a rather "canned" response.

Here is the certified letter that I sent:

and here is the certified letter that I received back:

I have been unable to find a lawyer willing to take this case on a contingency basis and I do not have the funds needed to pay a retainer fee so at this point I am stuck with no degree, useless credits that won't transfer anywhere, and a $72,296.91 outstanding student loan balance that has payments of over $700 a month so I am unable to continue my education elsewhere.

If you are a lawyer that is willing to take this case on a contingency basis or if you are just someone that would like to help out in some way you can contact me at tstcscam@tstcscam.tk Since there are other students out there that have experienced simular problems I believe there is cause for a class action lawsuit or even a debt strike.
